Focus Group Workshop 1

Thursday 14th July 2016

10:30 am

 City University London

Description and Aim

The first CCP-WSI Focus Group Workshop will provide a forum for Wave-Structure-Interaction (WSI) discussions that are relevant to a broad range of offshore and coastal applications. The Workshop will bring together CCP-WSI project partners with representatives from the wider WSI Community to develop a priority list of WSI challenges and inform future targeted focus group meetings. The ultimate goal is to develop a roadmap for CCP-WSI activities and inform future UK research funding calls to maintain the nation’s world-leading status in offshore and coastal engineering.

Objectives

  • Develop WSI Computation and Experiment Roadmap
  • Identify WSI challenges in the context of: coastal and ocean engineering; offshore oil and gas structures; wave and tidal energy structures; offshore wind structures.
  • Identify themes for CCP-WSI Workshop Series Design
  • Form consortia for Research Project Proposal Development

Report

A report detailing the outcomes of the workshop is available here.
